The process of mindfulness is to practice acceptance of whatever is happening in the present moment. Inviting yourself to take a nonjudgemental and open attitude towards yourself while you are engaged in mindfulness captures the nature of this accepting stands. During practice you do not need to achieve anything special. For instance, you don’t need to try to become relaxed or feel good. simply paying attention to what is happening in the here and now and saying if you can open up to your experiences in is at the heart of the practice. There is no need to try to change your experience no need to make it a different operator. this is called practicing non-striving. so the spirit of mindfulness includes acceptance and non-striving.
