A walk of Mindfulness

Hey Mindful, So we discuss about Mindfulness and more all the time. Here I will try to take you though a personal experience of mine witnessing mindfulness. So I just went for a mindful walk within the campus here. The walk, although short was enriching and peaceful. So I went from Building 31 here at my office to the Chai Point located near the washing machine building. The location of this point is very apt for morning tea. The store is east facing and gives full warmth of Sun while you mindfully sip the soothing Ginger tea. After being introduced to Thich Nhat Hanh, I have got this superpower of making just any walk a mindful walk. A walk that fills me with vibes of peace and relaxation.

A Superpower

This very moment after having returned from my Mindful walk I feel super peaceful and relaxed. With no worries of past and no anxiety of the future I sit on my desk writing a beautiful piece of text . This is really a superpower in today\’s time where chatter, chaos, and stress are the basic essentials one carries. And to top it up we also have an electronic distractor that fits in our pocket. And we use it for everything other than what it was initially conceived for. With so many distractions all around and in the pocket as well, If I have this power to be at peace and stillness at my will, I really am a (self-proclaimed) Super Hero of the movie called Life.

Every breath we take, every step we make, can be filled with peace, joy, and serenity.

A walk to remember

The walk in this campus is so picturesque that I have no other reference from around the world to compare it to. A lush green garden in almost every inch of open area. Chirruping birds, Doves, cats, and a cool breeze along with the warm sun glazing over you as if to take away all your stress and worries. And so much more which could not be expressed in such a short text maybe. On top of all this when you get the world\’s best ginger tea, it becomes a Nirvana combo. Well, that\’s a cool name I just came up with. Maybe someday if I start a food joint I will have a dish with that name. Maybe a Mindful combo can be the next one.

A blissful sip

Coming back to our mindful walk, every sip of tea in the canopy of Sun\’s warmth helped me reach deeper within. The warm tea was empowering me from inside while Sun\’s shining rays were giving a similar effect from the outside. And when you look around this massive amphitheater-like structure, you see a grand fountain (a fountain of youth it seems), a washing machine building ( a grand 10-floor building is built to look like a giant 100 feet tall washing machine) and greenery almost everywhere amidst other buildings.

The gap between tiles on the floor also has so much of flora that may not be even present in most of the modern day gardens. And when you walk amidst such scenic natural beauty, you feel like being one with nature. Taking deep long breaths and synchronizing each step with your breath, your joy doubles with every step and takes an exponential trajectory.

Just after 100 m of a walk, we reach back near our very own building 31, and you see this amazing pond having so many multi-colored fishes. The sound of water falling from one level of the pond to the next is yet another meditative experience. The lush green leaves on the divider of the footpath look greener than anything else you have ever witnessed. Flawless natural scenery.

Short and enriching walk

Witnessing so much in just a 10-minute tea break is pretty overwhelming and makes you relaxed to the core. You enter the building and experience a cool air (just because you came in from the warm sun). And your head towards your seat on the left side of the building and resume your job.
Living mindfully gives us a better perspective to life, to the world around us and gives us an opportunity to find the hidden treasures of bliss God has bestowed upon us, which we miss almost every day on a regular basis. There is enough of positivity and bliss around all of us present at all points of time. It only needs to be looked upon with attention.
Will end this post with another beautiful quote for Thich Nhat Hanh

People sacrifice the present for the future. But life is available only in the present. That is why we should walk in such a way that every step can bring us to the here and the now
